Hi hoping to walk this in Aug, any advice on sleeping bags ie a book I read said take one to 20 F (3 season). Is this necessary? Does anyone know the approx night temps?? Trying to go as light as poss!

Thanks from the UK

Yep, sounds about right. I carry a 20 degree bag. I've been on the JMT in Aug and seen temps as low as 22 F. Of course, some people "layer up" and perhaps use a lighter bag. It really depends on what you can tolerate.
