I have no idea why u'd want to dooz this route now. Saw peeps going up Sunday too tho.
This group was still working their way up when the sun was setting.
Lots of snow covering the cable and plenty on subdome. I guess that's ok since they
had ropes... but... well... my hands are sweating just thinking about that.

Don't see a lot of extra equipment.. and they for sure were atop Z big ol dome Sat night.

I did it in November one time. There wasn't any snow, which I agree would be no fun on the way down the cables. But we got to the end of the technical climbing just as the sun was setting... being in the middle of a sea of granite when it lit up bright orange from the sunset was definitely worth the long hike down in the dark.

Now that I think about it... going down the cables in the snow would be pretty dangerous. There's a good likelihood of either the cables freezing to the granite or being buried under enough snow that you couldn't lift them up. In which case you better start digging and hope you find something you can rappel from...

It sure didn't look so great on the other side...



Even from the west I was very surprised to see climbing... since the west side had some snow too.

A better question is, Where is her helmet? Ditto for the guy with the baseball cap.

Is it possible to just go up a ways and rappel back down? Chick-on is right that they are hardly equipped for a bivouac.

Absolutely love Broderick... zoom in up above and you can really see how
columns form in The Sierra. Really cool.

Have too many more snyths... will get to them eventually.

If you bring a second rope
