Re: is Tuolumne Meadows Campground open still?

Can one camp at Tuolumne Meadows now (after the Sep. 24 closing date)? Is it locked at the entrance, so that you can't drive in?

I mean, I imagine that one can camp there anyway if one is willing to forgo services. But we'd be coming with a vehicle, and it seems that you can't park along 120. But there's also the store lot, and the Lembert Dome road.

Not only is the campground closed there is no overnight parking allowed on Tioga Road. Try the campgrounds along Lee Vining Creek.

...and that includes no overnight parking in parking lots off of Tioga Road...

Only way around this is to be creative, like parking outside the park boundary. Even tho weather is nice, they gotta assume it won't be at this time of year.

Keeping the gates open with no staff present would be an invitation to mischief.
