Should be easy now:
Photo taken from Bunnell Point. On the right is an unamed dome. Beyond that is Moraine Dome. On the left is Cascade Cliffs.

Correcto.
You can also see: Starr King, Liberty Cap, Mt. Broderick, Sentiel Dome, El Cap, and Half Dome
Billy Dome, the dome between Moraine and Bunnell has a cascade just below it. If you still have
Burns' NP series you'll see that dome with John Muir along the cascade. Not sure why
they didn't name the dome and cascade. Many people mistake that cascade for Bunnell Cascade.
Bunnell Cascade proper is further upstream.
If you look on google earth the picture on Billy Dome is incorrect. I tried putting a picture of
me up and moving that one but to no avail. If you look at this picture and the one on GE...
it should be obvious the one on GE is not located correctly.
Here's the view from Billy Dome looking at Bunnell Point:

Ok, I'm trying to sort out the photos posted. The Chick must be at the falls on the lower left of the topo below but the original photo was from Bunnell Point, right?Quote

Back to my original off topic comment: Anyone know about the name of the falls noted on the topo? I think the stream is the Lyell Fork of Merced River.

Can't help you there. I even checked some trail hiking books which make no mention of those falls, let alone naming them.

It's still "just" The Merced there. Lyell Fork and Triple Peak Fork are further upstream
beyond Washburn. If you look at your map more... amazingly it doesn't even
have any falls marked on the Lyell Fork. When the water is really flowing that
is something to see. I'll stick up a photo when I get more time.

Probably the dawg is interested so here it is:
The mountain there is Mt. Florence. Jimdisco, you were right. Clark and Quartzite Peak were on the right
in the photo with me and bill-e-g. The predominant mountain with all the white stuff on it is Florence.
From that viewpoint, (as with Bunnell Pt.), Florence and Parsons jumps out. McClure and Lyell are
harder to pick out.
As far as this photo the trail on the other side runs in the tree line about half-way up the picture.
Here's a zoom in on some of the falls and pools:
You likey?

It took me a while, but I finally found this area on Google map. I sent a note to Leon Turnbull from http://www.waterfallswest.com. Hopefully he'll have an answer for us.
