I just came across this wonderful website by Paul Horsted that couples classic photos of Yosemite's past with photos that he has recently took from the exact (or almost exact) same spots. Highly recommended for any Yosemite aficionado.

(Note: the website also has similar photos from other U.S. national parks too.)

He did have two pairs of Hetch Hetchy photos. They were the fourth from the last and third from the last pair of photos.

Wow !! Thanks for sharing.

Great set of pictures. Paul has gone to great lengths to go to the exact locations and get the right shot.

Looked at some of his other "Before and After" pictures as well. It is interesting that most of the locations look about the same, still wild, still untouched. There are exceptions like Hetch Hetchy and the amount of glacial ice in Glacier National Park. Other than that, the locations are relatively unspoiled.

The NPS truly is America's best idea.

In some of the before and after photos of Yosemite Valley, it appears that the Merced River has changed its course a bit over the years.

Very cool. Really makes you think about the passage of time.
You might want to check out the book Yosemite in Time
