* AFFECTED AREA...Southern Sierra Nevada from Sequoia National
Park North to Yosemite National Park.

*THUNDERSTORMS...Isolate to scattered thunderstorms are expected
to develop this afternoon. Storms will provide little rainfall.

* WIND...Winds will be gusty and erratic wherever thunderstorms
do develop.

* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

The National Weather Service in Reno has extended the

* Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
Snowmelt in...
Southern Mono County in northern California...

* Until 900 PM PDT Friday

* Well above average temperatures through the rest of the week will
lead to continued above normal high elevation snowmelt. This
snowmelt produce minor flooding along creeks and streams in the
advisory area through the middle of the week.

* Rangers from Inyo National Forest report minor flooding in some
campgrounds in southern Mono County. Flooding from streams
draining the Eastern Sierra tend to be highest during the late
evening and overnight hours as daytime snowmelt works its way
downstream.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated. Be alert
if camping or hiking near streams as they are running fast and cold.
Most stream flows peak during the night or early morning hours so
don`t camp close to streams.
