Quotegroche51 Hello, I am trying to find out how the concrete slabs of Housekeeping camp were built. Are they built from cinder block? I noticed a canvas pattern on the side of the walls. Any information you can give as to how these were built would be appreciated. Quotecalberry in fact, it is the exact same site I was in last week. Steve You should have just left your rig there (with a note on the windshield "don't mind this, will be back in a few days" ) and taken Yarts home!by PineCone - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Quoteparklover The first time I went to Sequoia I stayed in a cabin there. Me too, I loved those old cabins with the old-fashioned claw foot bathtubs! I'm still amazed that before the campground got relocated to Lodgepole, there was a campground located right in amongst the giant sequoias! You'd have thought it would have dawned on them much earlier on that all those people, cars, etc. werby PineCone - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

Quoteparklover I wonder what kind of china you will be served on since DNC owns the Ahwahnee china pattern. Yep, if they were selling used Ahwahnee china in the gift shop before the transfer (and I've never seen used china for sale in there in all my years visiting, just new), I'm guessing there will be none to be seen in the restaurant (or gift shop), at least until this whole mess isby PineCone - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. Quotehikerchick395 We also bought one small plate (retired, used) of the Ahwahnee china. (Delaware North bought the design when the company that made the china went out of business.) QuoteDave Have you ever tried to drive a 45 foot bus through a parking lot like that? The Raley's in Oakhurst has been a regular haunt of mine for years, as I stop there every time on my way into the Valley for a camping stay. What, no syrup? OK, thank Ye, that's a very impressive operation/set-up for a little ol' backpacking tent way out in the hinterlands. I have an elaborate campsite set-up when I stay in the Valley (that makes a High Sierra Camp look downright Spartan by comparison), and even I use the pre-cooked bacon (no muss, no fuss).
