When one publishes a paper or scientific findings, one must expect others to be able to come to the same conclusion by repeating and confirming your finding or having them come to that same conclusion independently. Ok, this is fun... It's similarly as cold as the South Pole is now (it's summer there, isn't it?) http://weather.noaa.gov/weather/current/NZSP.html I could not find a picture of any pink feathered brethren that inhabit the South Pole... so I can only offer the link above as amusement.by Catalonian Burro - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. MikenHike, Try to do the Mist Trail one day. Whether you do it for this trip depends on how comfortable you feel with the steps, your load/bulkiness, and number of people on the trail (assuming you do at a different time of the year, or not at the crack of dawn with less people there, etc.). The MT is beautiful and I would hope you don't miss out on it. Note that the longer way also has verby Catalonian Burro - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

Mist Trail is very nice and, like eeek says, a shortcut. But one thought occurs to me that you should know, it has steps and plenty of people traveling through there. If you are loaded heavy or bulky like an astronaut you may want to reconsider as you will be weaving through people and worried if you take a bad step (when going down). Vince, The scientific method, we all learned as kids in school, explains that we build a model based on fact and then, by using observation, we validate and tweak the model to gain understanding. Not all models are correct. Some are valid in certain parameter ranges, others need more parameters- so to speak- due to the complexity of variables, etc. So to shoot holes into models and theories isby Catalonian Burro - General Discussion

By the way, one can learn and pick up a lot by watching how other people do stuff out there. A while back, I saw a few things that relate to blisters.
