Does the "High Trail" merge into the Mono Meadow trail @ 7/10 of a mile south of the Panorama Trail? How far from the Panorama Trail is that ziggy site? I'm taking newbies, including a 9 year old on this trip, so I'm trying to make it as direct and easy as possible. Thanks for the help.by Coolburn - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra

Hi Everyone, I was awarded my "plan b" permit this morning from Glacier Point, meaning I have to camp the first night somewhere other than Little Yosemite Valley. What is the first and or best camping spot? Can I camp along the panorama trail, or are there any good spots along the Buena Vista Trail prior to reaching the mono meadow trail junction? In June 2011, coming from Sunrise High Sierra camp, we stashed our backpacks at the last junction before climbing the subdome. Pulled the bear cannisters out of the packs, and left everything (14 packs!) behind a downed log.
