I've been to Sahalie Falls and Silver Falls. Proxy Falls is really great, not too far from Little Belknap Crater. Thanks for the post.by yosemitejim - General Discussion

Awesome. Got to get back to Mineral King sometime. Are the tarps on the bottom of the cars pretty effective at keeping the marmots out? I guess it is the tarps or parking in the other lot. Want to hike Glacier Pass to Black Rock Pass sometime. Anyone have info on Glacier Pass? Heard Glacier Pass is Class 3, but not too bad.by yosemitejim - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra
Flew in to Portland to see some friends. Went to Rainier for the day, on the way to Mount Baker. We stayed in Glacier Washington for a couple of days and hiked Heliotrope trail, and up around Artist Point. Hiked Easy Pass trail in North Cascades, and stayed in Winthrop. Hiked Heather Pass in North Cascades. Really like staying in Glacier Washington. It was really cool to see some of the pby yosemitejim - General Discussion
Back from the North West. Did some hiking on Rainier's Skyline trail. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCas-k7SLDE Checking Out Mount Adams from Rainier https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwKhbCBpvOA On to Mount Baker and the Heliotrope trail. A couple of tricky stream crossings, but it was doable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gC8OxE2FEC8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkn8BHvby yosemitejim - General Discussion

What a difference 2 months makes. Headed up Pohono trail on Friday. Definitely a lot less effort, and easier to find things with the snow melted. Passed the trail to Old Inspiration Point, but saw the spur trail towards Mount Beatitude(or whatever the point south east of Old Inspiration Point is called). Negotiated some steep slopes to get to this point, but nothing too bad. Could easily seeby yosemitejim - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra

Have a Great One. Is that a picture of Black Rock Pass? Another place I need to get to. Like the picture of marmot proofing the car on this link: https://backpackinglight.com/forums/topic/78578/ Have you tried something like that with the Mineral King Marmots?by yosemitejim - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. That must have been the first creek. I'm surprised it isn't on the map, but it must dry up pretty quick. You can see the indentation on the map, of where the creek is. I thought I stopped just short of the creek for Silver Strand, but that must have been Artist. Some people coming down said that the next creek crossing was close and it was a tough crossing, and I didn't check it out. I thinkby yosemitejim - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra
I crossed the creek that I thought was Artist Creek. Was a ways past the creek crossing. It is definitely a bit confusing up there. Any info is appreciated.by yosemitejim - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra

Was in yosemite on Friday. It rained most of the day on Friday. As is often the case, the rain was followed by a beautiful storm clearing the next day Headed up the Pohono Trail on Saturday. Put on snowshoes near 6000 foot elevation. I must have been near Old Inspiration Point, but overshot it. Found this semi obstructed view, that must have been near Old Inspiration.
