Not many trip reports on the board this summer. So will offer a couple herein that enthusiasts might read that are featured on my web site. Like others here fire smoke kept me from getting out on another couple backpacking trips I had plans for. That noted, I do expect to make one or two trips in the near September period.

This first trip on link above between June 18 and 22 was into the metamorphic geology of Glen Alpine Creek basin in Desolation Wilderness. My primary photographic quarry were Sierra juniper trees per above image as it is one of the best places in the range to see wind flagged specimens of those trees.
And this second trip July 31 thru August 7 was into Humphreys Basin in the John Muir Wilderness. Thunderstorms and periods of smoke haze limited photography, however I was happy to experience 3 decent mornings so captured a few nice subjects including the above lake reflection.
