QuoteCatalonian Burro Roland, Chick-on forgot to mention that this is a peekture of the aftermath after a 12+ hour snow storm. And the tent became a burro bungaloo- at the time. If I recall, and Billie-G can correct me, we decided to bring tent in case things got dicey and the tarp proved just fine. Quotechick-on Quoterroland Great pics i put some comments up...these may be pedestrian questions, why do you dig a trench for a campsite? what if it snows? how heavy is your shovel? No problemo. Quoteitchbay Ha. I've never been to GA, and until you mentioned it, I guess I'd assumed it was part of the HSC. I'll certainly put it on the short list. I'm hoping to spend a week in TM this summer, which will give us some time to do some backpacking as well as day hikes. Another hike I'm considering is some kind of loop going from TM to the valley and back. I suppose it would be smarter to doby rroland - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

QuoteAlmostThere Take some bug spray. I use permethrin on things, but more because of ticks, which crawl on your clothing. You need protection on your skin for mosquitos. Or a headnet. Since it is getting later in the season this is less of an issue - I just got back from 8000-9000 foot elevations, did not see a single mosquito out there, but we were not in wet meadows or near lakes/ponds. iby rroland - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada.
