Steve, 1) Would you do it again? 2) What was the most important thing that you learned? 3) Favorite place or view? 4) Low point? Enjoyed your report. Congrats. By the way, Tom Jones will probably want your autograph.by AnotherDave - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

My apologies for being such a tech dullard and making a mess of this thread. In an effort to get the train back on the tracks..... Great photos and text. Looks like a super hike. Loved the shots of wild flowers. Gotta get a detailed hiking map like the one shown. Superb overall hike. Long live Yosemite.by AnotherDave - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

Here comes my one million and second question: Could someone post a link to a discussion about how to post photos in this forum? I have a 5 day trip coming up in September and would love to contribute some photos of the hikes here. I'm a tech dullard, so it will have to be a simple procedure for me to pull it off.by AnotherDave - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

http://www.yosemitehikes.com/yosemite-valley/half-dome/reviews.htm That link will get you to a site that reviews Yosemite hikes, among other things. On this page, someone named J Rankin gives a review of the Half Dome hike. One of the things that we learn from this review is that there are no signs telling the hiker that this is a potentially deadly hike. The deliriousness you speak of happens in the daylight too. I did CR from the valley last year, and can attest that the elevation gain makes that hike a real grinder. Any info you have about finding the way to Sierra Pt. would be appreciated. That is on the wish list for this years trip. 56 days and counting.by AnotherDave - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. Since first reading about it on this site, I've been obsessed with the Ledge Trail. And, some of the heavyweights who frequent this forum have offered written and visual proof that it does exist and can be done. Wouldn't it be an ego boost to hike this deadly trail and join in the unofficial club of Ledge Trail conquerors? Or would it? The trail is supposed to be closed, and has a body counby AnotherDave - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

I have no use for hiking poles. One less thing to buy/carry/lose/break. But, I don't have a bad ankle that you speak of either. If the wheels are still on the blink after an entire year, perhaps you should consult medical advise; maybe your Dr. would recommend R&R instead of strenuous activity. Stunning photos. North Dome, Sierra Pt., and the Panorama Trail loop are all on my wish list for this year. 78 days and counting.by AnotherDave - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

Gorgeous. I hope to do North Dome from the valley in September. The view looks incredible.by AnotherDave - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
What a coincidence....I did the 4 Mile, Panorama, Mist hike last year, (with Sentinel Dome & Taft Pt.) too. The hike to CR is much more challenging, in my opinion. Much of that route is above 8000 ft., and that is where the elevation became noticeable. The top of CR is a worthwhile goal. View from there will leave you searching for words. Enjoy.by AnotherDave - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
I can't comment on the Tenaya Lake to Clouds Rest trail, but your reservations about the other route are well founded. I did CR from Happy Isles last year, and it is extremely strenuous. Possible, yes, but not for everyone in a large group.by AnotherDave - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

Cool story. It's always nice to hear that a "famous" person turns out to be a decent human being. I've never met anyone that you'd call famous, so nothing to report.
