Well, we can still ride the road, even if it's opened to cars. We're all experienced road cyclists. It wouldn't be ideal, but I'm sure others have done it without incident. My only concern would be the maroons with the RVs they only drive around twice every 10 years, and they have no idea how wide they are, or how to properly get over and back around a cyclist. We're already talking about making it a group event next year. Get a couple of campsites at Hodgdon Meadows, do a long out-and-back, camp and drink lots of beers. Sounds like heaven.by itchbay - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

What I really want to know is if my tomato plants will actually grow and produce this year? This cold, gray weather around here isn't helping.by itchbay - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Oh. Because even though I don't turn off the email, I've never gotten any kind of a response to any of my anti-scalping posts.by itchbay - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
So, it looks like it's just under 40 miles from Crane Flat to the bridge, and only about 1000' of elevation. And nothing too steep. Sounds like a great out and back ride.by itchbay - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Ha! Bike climbing. I suppose I could do some kind of search for elevation changes along the road.by itchbay - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

We stayed in the tent cabins back in May 2005, at the same week when apparently 250 junior high school kids were there for some kind of program. All I can say is they weren't hiking those kids far enough each day.by itchbay - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

I'm assuming you fantastic photogs have some good advice on buying a photo-friendly printer. I'm kinda thinking I would like a printer that I can use to print images to use for my etsy.com business, making custom photo magnets and greeting cards. DPI is important. When I make a magnet with the glass beads, the image underneath is magnified, which makes it look lovely IMO, but also highlightsby itchbay - Photography advice, critiques and tutorials

I haven't been visiting Yosemite long enough to be able to speak to seeing any chances myself. But I am interested in how climate changes have had an impact on the plants and animals -- if there have been any changes in habitat or location -- and how these changes are measured. The first thing I think about when I consider climate change in the Sierras are the stories we hear about Picas.by itchbay - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
