I would love to know exactly who to contact. I really hate that changes that Aramark has made in the park starting from their redecorating of the facilities (the decor looks like a big city hotel and not a national park) to the food and so on. While they have had bad luck the past few years starting with the Covid outbreak, the fires and bad weather, even before that their service was horrible.by parklover - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. Hi JKW. Hope all is well with you all. Sorry about your last lodge stay. For years, we have been staying at a private residence in the area when we go to Yosemite, so we don't have to deal with lodging anymore. However, we do shop in the park and eat at the restaurants and have not been happy with the changes Aramark has made. I agree, but who knows who will bid on it other than Aramark. I asked a Xanterra upper management person in 2010 about if they would ever bid on Yosemite and he said no that it is too political. I don't know if they changed their mind. DNC might be too mad about what happened, and Forever Resorts is a small company and might not be able to run a concession the size of Yosemite.by parklover - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. Quotemtn man When you were there recently did they still have those crazy traffic route changes that they instituted last year with the k-rails and redoing the shuttle routes? They removed the crazy traffic routes and the k-rails for the winter and I am not sure it they have put them back up again since we have been there. The shuttle routes were still the same. We have stayed at Xanterra properties many many times over the years and never had one issue with them. Quotelonelugger Aramark is the absoloute worst. They don't appear to me, but what do I know, qualified to run Yosemite, yet we are stuck with them. They make Deleware North look like Apple I used to think that Delaware North was bad and then Aramark got the contract. I can't think of one positive thing to say about Aramark. When we were in Yosemite a few weeks ago, we wanted to drive by the Ahwahnee and check out the pond. There was a man right before the parking asking if we were guests and needed valet parking. I think that it might be Slaughterhouse meadow where there used to be a slaughterhouse and fenced in areas to keep cattle in. Also, the location of Wosky pond which is seasonal. EDIT!!!!!!!!!! I can't remember if it has been said that the valley flooded every year but remember reading that the natural dam meant that the water table was higher which controlled the number of trees, especially pines. Quotelonelugger The Yosemite Falls trail is poorly patrolled by park rangers, and I am not sure why. last time I was there, there was some idiot running two large dogs up the trail and down. he was pretty abrasive and rude. he was never caught. I am not sure if it still applies but the NPS used to limit the percentage that a concessionaire can raise their prices each year. With Covid comes some limitation with hiring staff.
