To me it also looks like the curve between Washburn Pt. and before that last hill down to Glacier Pt. parking lot. Can't tell from the google map if that is the exact place but it looks like it. You used to be able to park your car in that area but they put some boulders to block it.by parklover - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
There are 294 lots in Yosemite West and I think that around 1/3 - 1/2 of them have houses on them. I can't recall the exact number but it keeps changing since the building moratorium was lifted a few years ago.by parklover - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

Quoteeeek Quoteparkloverwould love to go to the White Mountains. I remember camping up there one night with thunderstorms dancing over the Sierra. Wish I could duplicate that night. That must have been a really wild night! Nothing like watching a good thunderstorm as long as there is no chance of getting struck by lightening.by parklover - General Discussion

Last year they also had the shuttles running during the Thanksgiving holiday and it worked out very well. We decided to take a one way hike along the river and caught the shuttle at the end and took it back to the lodge. Zion is a great place to go for Thanksgiving especially if you stay in one of the Lodge's cabins. I love having a fireplace to sit by at the end of the day.by parklover - General Discussion
Quoteplawrence Agreed. The Yosemite Lodge parking gets filled up with day use park visitors, especially on weekends. Most parking lots at loding establishments seat nearly deserted between check-out and check-in times of the property. Not the Yosemite Lodge. After 11:00 AM, the Lodge parking lot tends to fill up with day use visitors who usually immediately head straight to the Lower Yosemiteby parklover - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. Here is the direct link to the Turtleback webcam and also some other NPS air quality webcams. You can access the air quality data from this site. http://www.nature.nps.gov/air/webcams/ I also found it annoying that the Conservancy site webcam section has issues. The Tioga Cam is still not up and I hear that the Conservancy is not taking over the cam as it was said earlier this year. The Aby parklover - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
I have a Macbook Pro laptop so the screen is not that big and when I zoom in then I lose part of the page so trying to look at the document is frustrating. Quotehotrod4x5 If this is a big one, this might close the pass for the season. I think you could be right. Quoteplawrence QuoteFrank Furter We can have a discussion without acrimony I think most who have posted on this thread are trying to do so, but one person in particular doesn't seem able to post responses without being derogatory, condescending, or insulting in his remarks.
