Quoteplawrence Quoteparklover Another possibility is that they were driving with a GPS and it did not have current info in it. That reminds of a time when I got a new GPS for my car about six years ago. For fun (since I already knew how to get there) I programmed it to direct me to the Yosemite Lodge. Quoteplawrence Quoteparklover Once upon a time, that's where the parking lot for the Yosemite Valley Vistor was located. Maybe they're real Yosemite old-timers who hadn't been to the park in ages! QuoteJana Parklover, we will be hosting two webinars so that people who are unable to make the public meetings still have an opportunity to participate. Chicagocwright, Thank you soooooo much. It has been driving me nuts trying to figure out what movie it was. In other summaries that I have read they never mentioned camping or insecticides so I could never figure it out. Another mystery of life solved.by parklover - General Discussion

On one of our last Yosemite visits, we were riding our bikes down the path near the Visitor Center when a car came up the part of the path where it is wide. The driver turned into the road that goes to Degnan's, which is the wrong way, and then turned left onto the path. It appeared that they thought they could drive right up to the visitor center and park there. There was a ranger there and wby parklover - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Quotemtn man Quotemtn man Back to crazy drivers: At this same corner the bike path on the south side of Southside drive comes into the intersection and widens out (almost looks like a golf cart path). I watched once as a foreigner in a rental car turned onto the bike path and attempted to drive on it. He didn't get very far as the path narrows. He couldn't back it out or get turned around. Katy thanks for asking and Jana thanks for responding. Frankly, I was getting so frustrated that I was just about ready not to comment even though I comment on almost all of the plans. While NatureBridge touts their educational programs and their non profit status, there is one thing that is seldom mentioned. There is a good possibility that Tioga Rd and Tuolumne Meadows will not be opened by early June, especially if we have another winter like last year. If it is important that you visit that area then plan your trip for July or August. If you go to http://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/seasonal.htm you will see opening and closing dates for the last 11 years. If you can skip T.
