How is it that those are in 16:9 instead of 4:3 aspect ratio?
Because my cameras can do 4:3, 3:2, 1;1, 16:9, you name it. Only a button push away. No cropping needed whatsoever.
Almost any good digital one can do that nowadays.Technically it is cropping, but doing it in camera, rather that in post processing.

Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion I've seen them sitting on the trash cans in Upper Pines in Yosemite Valley, I guess people didn't know what to do with them, so they just set them there.
I know Yosemite Valley has a great recycling program, I toured the facility on Earth day a few years ago. I would guess they do something with them.

It was pretty awesome!
The first time I did this trail was 2 years ago during the weekend where something like 900 wildfires were started by lightning, so there was a lot of smoke in the valley. Not to mention no water until Bridalveil.
This time it was perfectly clear. We had great views, running water and cool temperatures along the trail. We passed by a group that was go

Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion How stupid can you be, walking a dog off leash in bear country? And I suppose the bear will be found and killed for this woman's stupidity.

General Discussion Hmm, I thought I replied to this, must have gotten lost in cyberspace.
Anyway, here goes again. Even in the off season, it is a good idea to have reservations for Upper Pines. Since it is the only place open in the Valley, it can fill up. You'll get a non site specific reservation, but still, you have a site guaranteed.
I am surprised at the condition of those bathrooms, I used them in

Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion Interesting. People leave gear hanging in the elements, then trust their life to them weeks, or months maybe years later. Nuts.

Some great photos, but why no credit for the photographers I wonder?OK, I had to go to the original LA Times page which is where the credit is. Not so sure that Whitney Zone website should be displaying those photos without permission from the LA Times and the photographer.

Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion I don't know how safe this one would be in winter. Even if there is no snow on the valley floor, or up this chute, there will be snow on top, which on a sunny day, could slide down without much notice.
Comments?
