Typically don't the blocks open up 5 months in advance, one month at a time? So for March to be offered in Dec, isn't that early? I'm slightly confused.by hotrod4x5 - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

Quotetanngrisnir3 Quotequmqats How is it that those are in 16:9 instead of 4:3 aspect ratio? Because my cameras can do 4:3, 3:2, 1;1, 16:9, you name it. Only a button push away. No cropping needed whatsoever. Almost any good digital one can do that nowadays.Technically it is cropping, but doing it in camera, rather that in post processing.by hotrod4x5 - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

I've seen them sitting on the trash cans in Upper Pines in Yosemite Valley, I guess people didn't know what to do with them, so they just set them there. I know Yosemite Valley has a great recycling program, I toured the facility on Earth day a few years ago. I would guess they do something with them.by hotrod4x5 - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. QuoteThaFlash_LA It was pretty awesome! The first time I did this trail was 2 years ago during the weekend where something like 900 wildfires were started by lightning, so there was a lot of smoke in the valley. Not to mention no water until Bridalveil. This time it was perfectly clear. We had great views, running water and cool temperatures along the trail. Hmm, I thought I replied to this, must have gotten lost in cyberspace. Anyway, here goes again. Even in the off season, it is a good idea to have reservations for Upper Pines. Since it is the only place open in the Valley, it can fill up. You'll get a non site specific reservation, but still, you have a site guaranteed.
